The Magic of Crystalline Glazes-Art & Functionality in Porcelain by Diana Begner

Discover the beauty of crystalline glazes on porcelain for daily use in your home handcrafted by Diana Begner of Evergreen.  You can find tea sets, coffee cups, French presses, oil cruets with matching saucers, soap/lotion pumps, vases, miniatures, LED cordless lamps and many more!  I began selling professionally in the early 1990s and now have covered a variety of venues. I am an owner of Shadow Mountain Gallery and from time to time I exhibit at Center for the Arts in Evergreen.  Although I began using the wheel when I was 12 years of age, I did not begin producing crystalline-glazed porcelain until 2010.  My first firing failed miserably! Persistence paid off and within 6 months I began to consistently produce artwork with crystals.  My glazes are of my own formulation and are food, microwave, oven and dishwasher safe.

Nature Through My Eyes by Judy Miller

The natural wonders of my surroundings fascinate me. As an artist, I use my camera to explore and capture shapes and patterns of plant life and other natural phenomena. I use photographs as a jumping-off point for my art.  As I explore and play with my images on the computer screen, I search for a few special elements, textures, colors and combinations that call out to me. As each piece evolves, I strive to isolate and enhance those elements into a finished artwork that speaks to me, moves beyond what is normally viewed and experienced by casual observers and something that I’m proud to share. I hope my efforts bring you as much pleasure viewing it as I had in its creation.
