 Kinnikinnick Kids!

Kids' Backpack Tour

The kids' backpack tour allows children to experience the Kinnikinnick Ranch through the eyes of Hazel Lou, the Humphrey's little girl, who grew up on the ranch. Children will learn what it was like on the ranch in the 1930's and 1940's. There are games to play, activities to explore and many things to see. Children will be able to compare and contrast their lives today to the life Hazel Lou had as a child on the Ranch. Each backpack contains an activity guide, tour guide, toys, cowboy hat and bandana to enhance the kids experience at the ranch.

The Kids' Self Guided Backpack Tour allows kids to explore the many ranch sites including:

  • Hazel Lou's Play House

  • The Cattery

  • The Goatery

  • The Three Seater Outhouse

  • Clotheslines
  • The Double Nikl Picnic and Play Area

  • and so much more!

The Humphrey Family had a great appreciation and folnd inerest in items from around the wold. do you know that the Humphrey's kitchen contains 28 different sets of dishes and that their love of the world included China? There is a story that brings both the love of dishes and the mandarin Chinese culutre together in a fable about the commonly known blue willow patter. Follow the clues in the fable to find the treasure box.
